Find every hidden word in the letter grid by dragging across it. Three themes — animals, fruits and school — and three sizes, from an 8×8 grid holding five words to a 12×12 holding eight. What changes most between difficulties is not the size but the directions words are allowed to run.
Difficulty is about direction, not size
Easy hides words left-to-right and top-to-bottom only — two directions, both the way you naturally read. Medium adds the two downward diagonals. Hard allows all eight, including backwards and bottom-to-top.
That last step is the real jump. Reversed words defeat the scanning habit every literate person has, because you are searching for a shape your eye has spent years learning to read in one direction only.
Hunt letters, not words
The efficient method is not to read the grid looking for a word. Pick a target word, take its least common letter — X, Z, Q, J, K or a doubled letter — and scan the grid for that single letter, then check its neighbours in each allowed direction.
ZEBRA is far easier to find by hunting Zs than by reading rows. There are usually only two or three Zs in the whole grid, against dozens of As.
Scan by column when your eyes get stuck
After a few minutes your eye settles into reading rows left to right and stops seeing anything else. The fix is to deliberately change your scanning axis: read the grid down each column instead, or turn your phone ninety degrees.
Rotating the device is a legitimate and surprisingly effective trick on Hard, where reversed and upward words become ordinary left-to-right words once the grid is turned.
Save the long words for first
Longer words are easier to spot, not harder. A nine-letter word like PINEAPPLE fills nine cells, and on a 12×12 grid there are only a handful of runs long enough to hold it. Finding it also removes a large block of the grid from consideration, which makes everything after it faster. Words longer than the grid is wide are dropped from the pool entirely, so PINEAPPLE simply never appears on an 8×8 Easy board.

Can words run backwards?
Only on Hard. Easy uses left-to-right and top-to-bottom, Medium adds downward diagonals, and Hard opens up all eight directions including reversed and upward.
How do I select a word?
