About the Leaderboard
The global leaderboard ranks players by total points earned across the whole site — the Congak challenge, the Daily Quiz and the games. Points accumulate into tiers, and the ladder on this page shows where each tier begins.
Where points come from
Answering the Daily Quiz correctly earns 10 points, once a day. Each correct answer in the Congak challenge earns 2, which adds up to between 18 and 30 a day depending on how many levels the day runs. Playing any game earns 5.
The weighting is deliberate. The quiz rewards getting one thing right; Congak rewards working through a set of questions accurately; games reward turning up. Nobody can run away with the table by grinding a single activity for an hour.
This is not a high-score table
Points measure how much of the site you use, not how good you are at any one thing. Someone who plays Congak and the quiz every day will out-rank someone with an extraordinary Sudoku time, and that is the intended behaviour.
Skill at an individual game is tracked separately. Every game keeps its own leaderboard, and games with difficulty settings keep one per difficulty, so an Easy time never competes against a Hard one. That is where to look if you want to know who is actually fastest.
Tiers and the ladder
As your total grows you move up through tiers, each with its own icon and threshold. The ladder above shows every tier and, once you are logged in, how far you are from the next one.
Because tiers follow your accumulated total, they reflect consistency more than any single good day. Turning up briefly most days moves you further than one long session a month.
Getting on the board
The global table lists registered players, so an account is what puts you on it. Guests can still play everything and keep a local streak, but scores stored only in a browser cannot be ranked against anyone else's.
Registering is free and also moves your streaks and best scores to the server, so they survive a cleared cache and follow you between your phone and a computer. Congak at cerdikcerdik.com/math and the Daily Quiz at cerdikcerdik.com/quiz are the two fastest ways to start building a total.
Frequently asked questions
How do I earn points?
2 for each correct answer in the Congak challenge, 10 for a correct Daily Quiz answer once a day, and 5 for playing any game.
Do I need an account to appear here?
Yes. The global table ranks registered players. You can play everything as a guest, but scores kept only in your browser cannot be ranked against other people's.
Why is my best Sudoku time not shown here?
This table ranks total points across the whole site rather than skill at one game. Individual results live on each game's own leaderboard, kept separately for each difficulty level.
What are tiers?
Bands your accumulated points fall into, each with its own icon and threshold. The ladder on this page lists them all, and shows how far you are from the next one when you are logged in.
