Level Up: Earn Points, Unlock Badges, and Climb the Leaderboard

CerdikCerdik just got a lot more rewarding. Every time you answer the Daily Quiz correctly, work through a Congak challenge, or play a game, you now earn points — and those points add up to something bigger than a single streak.

Here's the breakdown. A correct Daily Quiz answer earns 10 points, once a day. Each correct answer in the Congak challenge earns 2, and because the challenge runs nine questions early in the week and fifteen at the weekend, a strong session is worth between 18 and 30. Playing any game earns 5.

Those weightings are deliberate rather than arbitrary. The quiz rewards getting one thing right when it counts. Congak rewards accuracy across a whole set, so a careful run beats a rushed one. Games reward simply turning up. The effect is that no single activity lets you run away with the table — a player who does all three briefly each day will out-earn someone grinding one game for an hour.

Points place you on a tier ladder with nine ranks. You start Unranked, reach Bronze at 100 points, Silver at 300, Gold at 800, Platinum at 2,000, Diamond at 5,000, Emerald at 12,000, Ruby at 30,000, and Sapphire — the top — at 80,000.

It's worth knowing what those numbers mean in practice. A day of quiz, Congak and one game is roughly 35 to 45 points, so Bronze takes about three days and Silver a bit over a week. Gold is a month of showing up. The upper tiers are deliberately long-term: Sapphire is not something you reach in a good month, it's something that accumulates over a couple of years of small daily visits. That's the point of them.

Along the way you'll also pick up badges — one-off achievements for milestones like finishing your first quiz, acing a perfect Congak session, or trying every game on the site. Unlike your tier, badges stick around permanently as a trophy case of what you've accomplished, visible right on your profile.

And there's a global Leaderboard ranking every player by total points. One thing that surprises people: it isn't a high-score table. Someone with an extraordinary Sudoku time won't out-rank someone who simply turns up daily, because points measure how much of the site you use rather than how good you are at any one thing. Individual skill is tracked separately — every game keeps its own leaderboard, and games with difficulty settings keep one per difficulty, so an Easy time never competes with a Hard one.

One practical note if you're playing as a guest: your streak lives in your browser, which means it disappears if you clear your cache or switch to another device, and guest scores can't be ranked against anybody else's. A free account moves all of it to the server. That's the difference between a number you might lose and one you won't.
